Fuzzy crackling in less than 1 month

I am a teacher and PhD student currently working from home due to COVID-19. I only use these headphones when I'm sitting at my desk connected to my computer for up to a few hours a few days a week. After about 3.5 weeks of use, an earbud (left side with microphone and controls) crackles and noise appears. I didn't wind these headphones up or use them much. They literally sit on my desk most of the time. I am extremely disappointed.
