One corner closes first, then you have to press harder to close and trim the other corner. This is assuming it will cut at all as they are only used for burrs. / Cuticles, and they tear more than they cut. I didn't think I would miss the mini file/hook either, but I was wrong. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more and get quality over quantity.
