Solving the Salt Problem

Pros: These booties solved a big problem for me and my dog; Salt. We live in the Boston area and they put a lot of salt on the streets and sidewalks. The dog couldn't walk ten feet before limping. I would brush his paws, he would walk another ten feet and limp again! It was bad. So I went in search of booties. I found those I couldn't handle, others that didn't want to stay, and finally this one. The cuffs stretch to make them easier to put on and as long as you fasten the velcro straps tightly they will stay in place. You have completely solved the problem with salt. Success! Now not so good: not waterproof. They get softened quickly. I bought a second pair and alternately one pair dries while the second pair is used. Not very durable. After about ten trips, they showed strong signs of wear. But two pairs will survive this winter and I've already bought two more for next winter. They're inexpensive enough to make this a reasonable proposition for me. If your dog is bothered by snow and ice (mine isn't), these booties might not be the best solution, but if you're concerned about salt, they'll get the job done.

Pros
  • Outstanding Overall Performance
Cons
  • The list will be long.
