I just reconfigured my apartment and unfortunately forgot to notice that my desktop computer is now very far from my router. Rather than (not) configuring further, I decided to try a WiFi adapter for now. Here are some thoughts: • Package and Installation: As shown in the picture, the package includes an antenna, a USB stick, a CD with the required wireless adapter driver, and installation instructions. The antenna screws into a USB dongle that works with both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports. At first I was a bit concerned that my desktop didn't have a CD drive. But thankfully, the USB stick is a plug and play device for Windows 10 users, so installation was pretty easy! • Speed/Efficiency: As stated in the product description, the WLAN adapter supports the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands. . I tested both 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz and I can say that the connection was really smooth. In terms of speed, both work effectively, although I find a wired ethernet connection preferable for desktops to really minimize any "drops" in the connection. • Size/Fit: As shown in the pictures, the USB dongle and antenna fit snugly and don't interfere with other ports. Note, however, that this works best when connected to the rear USB connector (i.e. don't use the connector on the front of the motherboard). So this WiFi adapter gets the job done. There were some intermittent power outages, but overall it's a good fit for my needs. Come on try it!
