Great nail file until it starts to rust

I really liked this file until I used it today and noticed that it was starting to rust. I've only had it for a month and it hasn't been stored in or even near water. After each use I removed the adhesive strips, cleaned the pen and set it aside to dry. Having had it for a month my returns window closed yesterday just a day before I can send it back. I liked it so much that I would be willing to try a replacement instead of a restore to see if the replacement has the same issue because the file itself works great.
