I've been using these label lifters for years and I find them to be the best way to preserve labels on wine bottles (or anything else). However, you MUST follow the instructions carefully. Be careful and precise when applying the lift and go over it several times with a spoon. I've found that once you've applied the lift, it's best to set the bottle aside for a few days, maybe with a spoon every now and then (just do it while you're watching TV or whatever). Then start to pull very lightly and the printed side of the label should pull with the lifter. While they work really well, be aware that some labels just WILL NOT come off without shredding - and yes, that's frustrating. However, I think I have about 90% success with them, maybe even 95%. And they have a laminated look to the finished label, which I like (I understand some people don't like that). Overall it can be tedious, but if you take your time, they work really well.
