Perfect for what I need right now

I bought several of these in different grits because I have a lot of tools that need to be brought back to life. I laminated them to a sheet of plywood that was one inch thick. (Strong materials with lots of layers!) Here are the results. Again I have to buy a lower grit and create another board because I couldn't make sure the board I was using was really flat. Glad they don't cost too much! Because they're so thin, the slight contour of the board translated right into my grindlines. The second board is my finishing board, it's as flat as it gets and gives great results. I haven't experienced sand separation as other people have reported. Having them on the board and in an easily accessible place makes it very easy for me to keep my tools sharp. It only goes to 3000 which is good for most instruments but I use some of mine up to 15000 on waterstones. Take them for what they're worth. For restoring tools from rust to razors they are great! Once I set them up, I can take out the second board and be razor sharp again in less than 5 minutes. With my tools, which I keep sharp after 3000, they hardly see the second block again. Prepare the surface to be mounted in advance and you can create a great addition to your shop for very little money.
