There are things I just don't trade and welding gear is one of them for me. The icing on the cake was the versatility of a face shield. Grinding mode is fine, but I generally prefer raising the sensor to clean materials that don't rain bright sparks. I had to adjust the sensitivity of the setting as the default settings created random flash conditions. With one setup, however, I've logged hours of reliable shade performance. It seems to pick up the high frequency start of my TIG torch which is very cool. It's heavier than my spare handheld helmet, but it's not overly heavy and I don't want to take it off between welds or experience fatigue from prolonged wear. Easy to carry, versatile, easy to set up and made by a respected company that has a lot to lose here in the USA if their product starts to dazzle their customers. i am sold
