I bought this because my new laptop only has one USB port and I need at least 2 for my use. For external hard drive and wired mouse. I think the wiring is already starting to come off, it's been about two months since purchase, it's connected and used daily. For the past few days, my computer has been constantly turning on and off as if something had just been plugged in or unplugged from a USB port. So it might last longer if you need to use it sparingly, but I think I'll invest in a better one. At the moment it works and still does what I need, fortunately there are no problems with the mouse, there is not that much lag when disconnecting, and frankly if my computer did not ring several times at certain times, the disabling USB was detected I probably wouldn't have noticed for a long time.
