I've read reviews that other plastic erasers are better than the Mars. I don't think their erasers have changed, but they don't seem to erase pencils as well in America as they do in Europe. I think it might have something to do with the paper we prefer in America, maybe the paper is a different size for example? For example, this results in the texture and absorbency of the paper being slightly different. Perhaps America needs a slightly different formula than for its optimization? Until then, rest assured that the Mars plastic erasers are some of the best! You might want to try another brand as there are a lot of them these days. but in my own limited testing I haven't personally found any significant differences, so I'll just go with the best deal. What led me to this package. Not only is this a very competitive price for erasers, it means sharpeners are practically free! Who doesn't like something for free? As long as they are available I see no reason to buy other erasers unless someone lowers their price. The included sharpeners are actually of very good quality. The blade is at a very shallow angle so some may find that they don't sharpen very well as they require a little more rotation than others. This is a sign of a good sharpener, a cheap one cuts very quickly but can often break or weaken the lead. They also leave a rough surface on the wood. These sharpeners leave a very smooth wood surface, very thin lead, and I haven't had any breakage yet - and that's for very cheap pencils! The design seems a little odd, I wanted the container to resemble a "tic-tac" rather than a round one, but maybe that could cause the shavings to block things? The sharpener comes with two different sized holes, one for regular pencils and one for thicker pencils. There's even a valve that snaps in nicely to prevent shavings or lead powder from escaping, presumably when carried in a pocket, school bag, etc. The entire tip top simply slides out for emptying. Really good for free. one as round, but maybe that could cause shavings to have blocked things?
