I didn't want to buy an expensive self-darkening mask for hobby beginners. So I chose this one. That's a good helmet. The headgear of the helmet is really good. I think it's worth the money just for that. I've tried several HF models at a similar price point and they just can't compete. Solid shade #10 is suitable for general use. I just want to point out one problem: if there's a bright sun or light outside behind you, the light can bounce off the inside of the lens, hitting it from the side and interfering. I think you can wrap the fabric around the top of the helmet and pull it over your head like a ceiling hood. It will only be a minus. Otherwise it's a good helmet.
