The backpacks are small enough to fit in a cargo pocket, worked great during a torrential downpour on holiday, allowing us to continue sightseeing with ease. It's not 100% waterproof, it's waterproof. If you want 100% protection, you need a synthetic product. This product is breathable and offers sufficient protection. I got a bit wet on my shoulders but they dried quickly and that wasn't a problem and I would have preferred that to wearing something non breathable and the discomfort associated with these products. Will recommend to friends and will buy again.
