Falling apart after one use

Bought to give to my son's preschool after we take a trip to Hawaii. He only asked about souvenirs for his class when we were already at the airport. At first they were very cute. They came packaged right away. Once bent to fit the wrist, the quality quickly deteriorated. They wrinkled and faded. And after a few slaps on the wrist, the sides parted. Inside are pieces of a metal tape measure. The edges of the tape measure are sharp so the entire batch had to be discarded. I couldn't risk someone cutting themselves on the sharp edges.
