The thing is leaking. Perhaps the tunnels should be at a downward angle rather than level. The ventilation does the job as advertised. And I can deal with a leak by holding my hand over the glass. But when used with a stand, it creates a mess that runs down the sides and piles on the bottom. You need to wipe, disassemble and wash the bottom of the jar. Terrible design. Even in the hand is such a mess that you can't put it in a small stand. I'll wash up right away. I still use it though (not a big stand). Ventilation washing only takes one minute instead of waiting 20 minutes to let it breathe. The leak is such that I will not use it with guests. Too much clutter. It would be awkward.
