The hand held shower head does not fit properly in the base.

I liked the design and look of this shower head so I bought it for a bathroom renovation project. It was installed today but the plumber and I noticed that the shower head handpiece didn't fit properly in the round base. I could insert it but it takes a lot of effort and then it's difficult to remove it for later use. You cannot remove it with one hand. You'll have to work a little with both hands to remove the wearable part. I've written to Delta Support to see what they have to say. Do I have defective devices?
