Looking at the design I thought the outer shell would spin freely and prevent anyone from removing the lid, but it doesn't. The rings and grooves are for appearance only and are likely placed there to confuse buyers. You can remove the caps with an Allen key, or simply unscrew them by hand or with pliers. They are no better than regular caps.
