I've used the air tags you add to collars in the past but my 4 year old 70 lb Boxing Malamute mix always ripped the silicone. and leather + metal screw seemed awesome. The problem lies in the hole in the skin where the label with the image of an apple is visible. After some time (now a little over 2 months) the skin will stretch and the label will fall out. This is particularly annoying as there is no need for a hole to be there. You insert the trailer at the side and then screw it on. The only reason for this hole is that showing the Apple tag might make someone feel like a bougie. In fact, my dog is far more important to me than making sure the rare occasions someone sees my dog and can get a good look at the right inch of his collar to be impressed with my "status" because I can afford an electronic device for $30. I'm trying to fix the problem by sewing the hole shut, but I know it's only a temporary fix. I'll be on the lookout for other collars that hold Air Tags that work better.
