Review on Blum 971A9700 22X10 BLUMOTION Cabinet Polybag by Jesus Cordova

When I started school I was looking for a way to make kitchen cabinets quieter when kids get up early and start slamming doors. I was thinking of replacing all the cabinet hinges but it's a bit more work and more expensive. Then I found these that work great! They're pretty easy to install. Once you get on the reel, each one only takes a few minutes. Pre-drill a pilot hole in the top of the door frame (I used a 1/8" bit 1/2" deep) and screw the hardware into it. If your drill is too big to fit in a corner, you may need an angle or flexible drill. There were no instructions but check out some of the photos in the reviews here and maybe a youtube video if needed. Parts are shipped in Ziploc plastic packaging. Apparently, Revain orders them in bulk and then segregates them into packs based on the quantity you order. The packaging looks unprofessional, but there is no doubt that these are genuine parts and not fakes. Buying in bulk is much cheaper than buying them individually at a hardware store. I had a cabinet that already had a screw in the top corner of the frame blocking the installation area. So I installed the hardware about an inch from the top and it works fine. You can also put them in the bottom corner of the door, but the top one seems better because it doesn't get in the way of the items in the closet. I had another cabinet with a 45 degree front door and I couldn't install the damper over there. Not enough space near the door frame. No problem, we almost never use this closet anyway. For tall or heavy doors you may need 2 dampers per door, but even with my 5ft pantry I only needed 1 damper per door. After installation, there is an adjustment screw to adjust the closing depth if needed. I only had to adjust a few dampers, the rest was fine from the start. All in all a well made product that is easy to install and works great. If only I had known that many years ago!
