Was there and drove across the country in heavy rain. I won't lie, I've always driven carefully, but just last month I had to return from Austin, where I got back the night before Hurricane Harvey hit Houston. I waited a week to come back and the roads were still underground. Driving down the back roads around Beaumont, trying to get back to my final week of work in Baton Rouge, I had to cross roads in marshland, slightly submerged but cars in oncoming traffic, before throwing the title waves. I had no choice as I couldn't turn around but could follow the raised Dodge in its tracks on my Acura TL (lowered an inch). I felt like a wakeboarder and confident that I would turn on the hydrolock. All I learned was that there were no other roads on the other side of the flooded road. So I had to go back to the other side the same way, but I just found that the other side was a little deeper. The adrenaline was high and I was very lucky and I thank the Lord for these things. They work! Be smart though I would never have done what I did if it wasn't for the last option.
