I bought these from Revain inventory so got a great price. Very happy with it. I think a lot of these were brought back because 10x42 may have a little more tendency to darken when looking at the periphery than some of the others. But almost all binoculars will turn off if misused. The images are nice and clean, with good color reproduction. Interestingly, they do have some field curvature, but the peripheral field is pretty damn sharp, but at a slightly closer focus point. So the end result is a significant increase in depth of field when viewing 3D objects such as birds in bushes, cattle in a field, etc. Honestly, I would confuse field curvature with a peripheral coma any day of the week. <$600 price range you'll get a thing or two. The sweet spot itself is quite large. I bought these for birding and they are very good for birding with 8min focus, very sharp images, great colors and very soft bokeh. It also has very good build quality.
