As with many other bad reviews on this suit I have the same complaint. Lightning doesn't level up. Seriously, O'Neill? Well it's a joke. I have bought many wetsuits over the years. Some were really cheap nameless brands and even they could keep the zipper in place. I gave 2 stars because I love the fit. The armpits are smooth and do not cause rashes during long sessions. I feel like a wooden toy doll pulling my rope all the time while surfing. So disappointed. I remember when O'Neal was a good brand. I found a solution. Cut out a rectangle from a small piece of plastic. In this case, I used the door on the spice jar lid. Drill two holes on one side. Sew the plastic into the zipper path, like a door that closes under the zipper. O'Neill, take notes. See photo.
