Addendum 10/2009: Well I'm trying this tray again - I had to remove it from the attic. My 17 year old cat has thyroid problems affecting her gut. I realized I probably put too much junk in that box. I reduced the amount of junk I used in it and now it works much better. This is a nice addition to my very large, high walled boxes to give my cat more choice. The curved sides create a cleaning problem when you try to scoop out "liquid" lumps - they stick to the curved sides and the scoop doesn't fit that shape - and small parts and parts are left on the bin. In short, I wouldn't choose this litter box as my primary litter box, but having issues with a geriatric cat, I'm glad I have another option. First Rating: Wow! What a mess my cats have made with this litter box! I've already taken it off. I bought this for my older cat (16 years old) to help him get in and out, but my other 2 cats used it too. There was rubbish everywhere and you even missed the "departure". My cats liked it but I didn't! I'll keep it for future use if/when my senior cat falls and needs to use it, but for now I'm sticking with my very large enclosed litter boxes! The pros though: it doesn't seem to tip over, the horizontal size is convenient for use against a wall - doesn't protrude too far.
