I already had a large knife from the same series and was very happy with it, but I wanted something smaller (the size of a knife). This paring knife did not disappoint. The non-stick coating on the sides makes a big difference - it just glides over the food. If it's sharp, you can use this knife to slice an overripe tomato into neat round chunks (most other knives won't mash this tomato unless their edges are pulled through). I have quite a few knives, but this has become almost the only one I use for anything smaller than a cabbage or a loaf of bread. What do I use for them? Another, larger knife from the same series. There are only two downsides to this knife: 1) the blade is thin and flexible so you can't really pry it open (e.g. to remove the stone from an avocado) and 2) it seems to dull faster than some of my other knives . But, hey, it takes five minutes to sharpen a knife, so I don't care if I have to do it every month or every three months. This is a great knife, especially at such a low price!
