This fabric softener is considered hypoallergenic. That's a pretty strong statement, especially if you have a severe chemical allergy like me, but you're looking for a fabric softener that's comfortable enough to wash your hands without being so overwhelming that it sends you to the emergency room. I gave him a whirl. I will probably have to give up. I can't believe how strong and artificial the chemical smell is. Doesn't smell like citrus at all. Smells like a bottle of cheap perfume. I have to hand wash all my laundry and just a few drops of this product is enough to burn my throat. I am so disappointed. Hypoallergenic should contain fragrance, not just parabens.
