Cheap for what you get. Mixing stumps are the perfect alternative to crumbly napkins and mixing paper. Ideal for larger scale blending, the stumps are dual sided allowing more time between cleaning/sandpaper re-sharpening. They are made from compressed paper fibers. Tortillons are simply tightly rolled pieces of paper, but they're tighter on the ends, meaning they lend themselves better to finer blending. The problem is not to press too hard as the tip may fall into the pen. The invention of the paperclip might help fix this a bit, but I haven't been able to get that little point back since it happened to me once. Also, the only way to clean them is to rub them on a clean paper surface.
