RUYUFE 70N-120N Toy Box Soft Close Lid Bracket After two tries with other devices it is really soft close. The gas shock type had to be mounted lower on the sides than was possible with these window seats. The adjustable metal type (QBOSO) was not very smooth. After slowly closing it to around 45 degrees, the lid slammed shut. They are better suited to a downward-opening lid. In this case it would be a soft open. I installed a Ruyufe cover stay on each of the two 13.5" x 52 3/4" window seat covers. The lids have two flush mount hinges and weigh 10-12 pounds. everyone. I added blocks to the sides to expand the mounting surfaces. After attaching the top bracket as recommended in the instructions, 6 inches from the back edge, the lid only opened about 75 degrees. Moving this bracket down 3/4" allows the lid to open 90 degrees. This resulted in the screw closest to the hinge being centered 5 1/4" off the hinge side of the lid .Ruyufe lid mounts provide a secure 90 degree opening with the installation modification above.Pull down the lid 5-10 degrees,it closes very gently all the way.I didn't expect it to be so hard to open one Finding soft close jig for my situation. A hard shell toy box will make the gas push work. A downward opening lid would probably allow the QBOSO to act as a soft opener. With a few modifications, the Ruyufe datum supports were the only type that matched my window seat covers.
