6ft 3in 230lbs and my waist is 37in so some 38in shorts fit well and some are loose and me can get a 36" but they are too tight. Now that you have an idea of what size I wear, maybe this will help you with sizing as the size charts don't apply to them. Size 2XL was too loose for me. Accepted ,they fit like a second skin and don't bunch up or move too easily like a rashguard.The top 6" of the waistband was loose and the hips were also loose. Only the bottom of the legs was tight enough but I could tell that they would move all over the place and bunch up when I go in the water.I only read all the reviews to figure out what size to order but I still guessed wrong.well done ex he lack of a proper sizing chart can make choosing the right size a guessing game. This is a product that needs to be tried on in order to purchase properly as different brands may fit differently. When I ordered them they were $25 with Prime but when I went to re-order they were up to $40 plus shipping WTH. I am returning it and getting XL in another brand and hopefully it will fit me better.
