I've been running these classic Sauconys for decades (starting with the original Shadow in the 80's and then the 6000's in the early 90's). I run rough, hilly trails and this is the most stable shoe I've ever used and I've tried others on occasion and sprained my ankle twice in the first few days with two. I run year round and these shoes do well in the snow although I use spikes as the trails get ice patches regularly. Worth a try.
