March 2021: I treated myself to a new scooter at the end of April last year, in 2020. Here in my area the Covid-19 pandemic was just flaring up and I could see that we hadn't traveled in a year. I used to have a scooter but it died about 4 years ago and I just didn't replace it. My wife saw that I missed riding and advised me to get a new one. I had a leather jacket that I wore for many years. It was comfortable and durable enough to provide adequate protection for riding a motorcycle or scooter through city streets. Unfortunately the zip on it broke last September, so the zip could be unzipped from bottom to top while riding. The weather was still good enough that I rode to work in fleece under a leather jacket but with a broken zipper and that was the end of my trip for the year. You have to understand that I am a safety advocate, which is why I refuse to ride even my scooter without the proper motorcycle safety gear - jacket, helmet, gloves, work. A 35 mph crash can kill you almost as badly as a 70 mph crash, depending on the circumstances. So I went in search of a new leather jacket. Since last September I've been browsing Revain.com, other websites and my local motorsports stores. I pretty much narrowed my decision on a new jacket down to this one and another one that costs around $80, also here at Revain. The $80 jacket was no longer available in December and their page isn't even showing anymore so I decided to order this one. He arrived on Saturday. I'm so glad I have this jacket! The weather got warm last week so on Saturday I changed the oil and tuned up my scooter. Since the jacket arrived when I was preparing my scooter for the year, I was able to take it for a test ride later. That was all it took for the bug to get me. This morning I had to drive it to work even though it was only 43 degrees. The trip was wonderful. The zip lining kept me warm (I have nice warm gloves in the form of mittens for this kind of moody weather). Unlined on Saturday, I was comfortable enough in the 80s. I will say that I can understand why some of the reviews complain about the sleeves being too tight with the removable liner. I'm a rather short guy at 5'8" and 150 pounds and not very muscular. The sleeves fit snugly around me with a liner. I'm not complaining, they were very nice this morning but be aware that these Jacket may not fit you if you are a tall guy I chose my size based on the sleeve length in the size chart and the fact that I like my jackets to be just above the hips, that's why I'm only giving 4 stars for the comfort and overall.I was expecting the jacket to be a little more flexible in the waist than it is so I can't get my keys out of my pants pocket or out of my pocket when the jacket is zipped up.I hope so gets more supple after a bit of breaking in, leather and workmanship feels premium, stitching is solid, leather is nice and heavy because if I ever have an accident I get chewed on and that's the main reason I bought this jacket. ar and other decoration in place while driving. The pockets feel well made and are big enough for my oversized smartphone. The removable liner is easy to take out and put back on. Conclusion: I am very satisfied with this jacket so far and would at least recommend it to other people like me. July 2022: I wrote this review a little over a year ago. The jacket has become a little more flexible. You always think "I'm a safe rider, nothing will happen there", but today my jacket was checked for its intended use. Someone interrupted me and said they didn't see me. I locked the brakes and laid the scooter down, trying not to hit her. I was only going 10-15 mph from braking through red lights, but still. My jeans are ripped and I have a good road rash on my knee and my gloves are a bit gnawed, but the spot where I slipped into the jacket isn't even frayed. It hurts a little, but the jacket did a great job of protecting me from more serious injuries. If you are of the same build as me and you ride two wheels, I would not recommend this jacket! This morning it saved me from a much more serious injury than the one I had.
