Firstly, don't buy them if you look at the picture, it shows tan shoes and when delivered they are quite dark brown, personally it didn't bother me but some might not like what they get compared to the picture. Very soft and comfortable to put on and wear as I have come to expect from Hush Puppies, very beautiful and comfortable but I bought them as walking shoes not for walking or hiking just for regular long walks just for the comfort they are suitable for 5 or 6 miles. The paved surfaces are actually nice to walk on but today I did 7 miles of mixed surface on the paved ok but 3/4 of this hike was stone trails and I felt every stone with every step through the soft sole which made my feet really hurt Arriving home so these aren't hiking shoes, I expected them to need a stiffer sole so I'm marking them 4 stars because they aren't good enough for walking on slightly uneven terrain so you'll need to look for something firmer look under your feet. There are some really good hiking boots out there, but they are too hot and too heavy for summer.
