The cost is half. The latter is half the length,

I give three stars because it fits the needs and the overall design from the manufacturer is terrible so the spare part isn't to blame. With some well-placed zips, this should last long enough for a replacement to arrive. Both sides are cracked, but one side failed catastrophically. They lasted 12.5 months. They are usually destroyed within a year after light domestic use. The originals lasted 2 years and didn't break that often. Only small protrusions began to break all over the arm. But at twice the cost I think the cost will generally stay the same over time, except the time it takes to fix the strut is once a year versus once every 2 years. They're easy to replace, I'm more upset with Whirlpool for the crappy design with crappy plastic parts that don't last than for the spare parts that only lasted a year. But $20 versus $500-$800 is an easy pick, leaving the dishwasher.
