WOA! Just get it already!

I've been looking through Lansky's water sharpening stones and these sharpening guides that you press against the table that look like Lansky systems. I bought this on a whim and. Oh WOW, this is AMAZING! It comes with a few extra straps (rough if your blade is chipped and badly damaged, regular sharpening and honing). A bit strange design when you first take it out of the box but the official youtube video helps and it becomes very easy and intuitive to use. This version has 20 or 25 degrees for kitchen and pocket knives. The Ken Onion Edition offers various adjustments for additional angles for those of you who want more control but cost $50 more. With these presets I was able to sharpen all my kitchen and pocket knives down to the razor blade. There is one thing to note. On the last pull, when the knife leaves the belt, the blade tip can splinter if care is not taken. The strap easily deforms and does. I discovered this the hard way and had to sharpen it a bit to get the point back. Just keep an eye on it and you'll be fine. Another thing is that with all belt sanders you keep an eye on the heating of the metal with continuous sanding, so as not to spoil the hardening. At $80 you can't go wrong as many other knife systems cost as much or more. I'm not sure I would pay more for the Ken Onion Edition. This is great for my basic needs. Very happy with this purchase. I ran around the house trying to find all the knives to sharpen!
