Review on Enhanced SEO: 12-Volt Dash Socket Plug by Blue Sea Systems (Model 1015-BSS) by Philip Brianne

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Rugged and well designed for harsh environments

These are some of the best picks I've used. The sockets are well built, come with a trim plate and rear locking nut, and feature a Blue Sea locking feature that keeps the plug in place in even the most turbulent conditions. The connectors are well designed and very easy to connect, with terminal holes for inserting the bare/twisted end of the wire. The 16 Ga cable is no problem both in the terminal and inside the housing (enough space for wiring). The output cable clamp is functional and has a rubber mount. The plugs feature a 10A fuse built into the spring-loaded center contact point, a built-in LED to indicate power, molded side contacts that snap into place, and a wiper seal that provides some sealing when the plug is in the socket is located. Overall well suited for use in harsh environments.

Pros
  • Socket has a waterproof cover, easy installation and locks in place with plug
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
