Due to heavy snowfall this year, our Fiat got stuck. We tried various ways to free the car, but it wouldn't budge. I was about to call a tow truck to get us out but then decided to see if there was something that might work instead (I'd rather pay for something I can reuse than a tow truck). I found them and a competitor's product with rubber grips. The gummies were cheaper but I was concerned about durability and bought them instead - glad I did! These things are heavy and thick (definitely made to last!). They are wider than the hoop to grab it from the side as well as from below. I have to admit that the first time I attached it to the tire I didn't engage it enough and it slipped but I moved it and secured it for another try. It worked this time. They dug into the ground and pushed the car right out of the icy pit of the tires. Is that cheaper than towing? No, but it's definitely worth it. These things are strong, heavy and will last a long time! It's important to remember that when using on the front tires you should only drive straight forward or backward as the extension will cut into your fender.
