These mesh feeders are saving the life of our 9 month old teething baby. I make my own baby food and freeze the puree in ice cube trays. If I think my baby might have a slight toothache while teething or if I want to offer solid food, I load the feeding net with frozen pureed food. I want the hole for these teethers to be big enough to fit an entire ice cube sized piece - unfortunately I have to cut the freezer cube into several pieces to fit the hole. However, once it's loaded, my kid will be sent to the CITY until there's no more food in it. I recommend using them with non-juicy foods (like some fruit) when you don't feel like cleaning up a big juicy mess. I've used frozen yams, yams, and mashed pumpkin and they worked great! I've also used frozen breast milk and fruit which, while they can be messy, still bring great relief to the baby. Cleaning can be a little painful if you don't wash it off right away. I find that as long as you turn the mesh inside out you can usually make sure everything is clean. I've also thrown them in the dishwasher on the top shelf and they come out fine.
