I have had about a dozen GPS systems in almost as many years, mostly Garmin products, and this is the first time I am seriously considering buying a GPS regret everything because of the user interface. I can't help but wonder if Garmin made any attempts at this model before unleashing this abomination on unfortunate consumers. I will say that I think the only major flaw with this device is how the device handles the touch screen, but this problem is so severe that it almost renders the device unusable. In fact, this downside is so significant that this will likely be my last Garmin purchase. The touchscreen interaction is so frustrating that I have more or less given up using this device. It's not that the touchscreen doesn't recognize my choice. Visual feedback is sufficient. That means the onscreen button I'm trying to press eventually turns blue to indicate the device recognizes the input. The only disappointing thing is that the device only accepts a valid key press randomly. I had to type the same key more than 20 times before the device would accept a recognized keystroke, even though it usually only takes 3-8 "recognized" keystrokes to do so. It's probably quicker to stop and ask for directions than to try to enter a waypoint into this system. In search of a replacement for this apparently inadequate device, I turned to printed instructions from Google Maps or borrowed an old device from one of our other cars under threat of penalties from other family members. - Lost in Nashville.
