I wanted to use my phone as a GPS on a motorbike. I looked at Ram first as I've used their products in the past and found them to be solid, but after research and further research I didn't really think about the placement of the support arm. They seemed perfect to operate the buttons on the phone and who needs it at a speed of 120 km / h. So I did what many people could do and tried one of the inexpensive plastic blocks. Didn't even get through the install. This device was a definite change, but now after a few weeks of use. he's worth every penny. It's all metal and looks like a real kit. The spring tension is just right and the cups on either side that hold the phone are deep enough so I think you can certainly wear it without the extra strap but there are 2 silicone straps included. I use Paranoia's, but the feathers themselves are more than capable of attaching. Three handlebar adapters are included so you can use it on different diameter handlebars after installation. It won't go away. It has a nice thumbscrew, which is handy because I just keep the mount part on the poles and bring the GPS mount part inside when I'm not using it so the AZ sun doesn't dry out the rubber. This particular device rotates. and allows you to tilt but not articulate, but they appear to have a ram-like dual ball model that gives you a greater range of motion. I installed it just below the ignition key and it works great. I was a bit concerned that I was spending so much money on a mount from a company I've never heard of but still do. VERY impressed and glad I bought it. Update: About 2 weeks ago after riding about 6 miles in the mud, I attempted a 7 foot wide turn on pavement on a bike with a 9.5 foot turning radius. When I saw my wife and I about to land on the cactus, I grabbed the leading edge and fell. My wife and my bike fell into the ground. phone . in the mountain. didn't move!
