They work great and fit thicker Ticonderoga My First Pencils. I can't say how long it will last, but I don't buy them expecting them to last more than a couple of weeks with constant use. The blade usually becomes dull and a replacement blade is more expensive than a sharpener. Retreat. The price is great. It's hard to find a thick beginner's pencil sharpener (many two-hole sharpeners aren't big enough for them) for less than $5-6 a piece. They were perfect as a birthday present in kindergarten.
