Nice and quiet after entering.
I installed this as a back pump in a Red Sea 170 fridge. It was quite noisy at first and I almost got it back but I decided to wait a bit to see if it shut down completely was. It's pretty close to being as quiet as a pump can be today. The reservoir is a few feet from the head of my bed and I can't hear it because of the fan I use for white noise to help me sleep.
