Review on πŸ”¦ Exploring the Depths: Underwater Kinetics MiniQ40 MK2 Dive Light Shines Bright with 250 Lumens by Dana Schmidt

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Unreliable good for sport

The old Q40 was my workhorse in California for lobster fishing, the MK2 let me down. While I really liked the idea of having an on/off switch on the back of the case, there seems to be a flaw in the design. The light seems to come on only after screwing the bulb on and off or tapping on the body. On a recent dive it just shut itself off, I thought the battery was dead, but when I tested it on my machine it worked again with no issues. The MK2 is said to be unreliable. My buddy bought the same model and after two dives the switch stopped working. With all that knowledge I would recommend the old Q40 of this model.

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product
