Didn't know it was the hairy type

Nice but similar to the fluffy hairy look. I thought it was a flat pile rug. The size was perfect for this area but vacuuming won't work unless you have a small brush attachment as the particles that land on it will need a brush to remove as they are hairy. In addition, it is too light to be vacuumed without suction. To keep it from moving across the floor you may need to put a rubber pad underneath. I haven't washed it yet and I don't know if I can because it didn't come with instructions.
