I like quick filters, they are great. They really help pick up small particles left in the water after I vacuumed the substrate and changed the water. You can run the quick filter for about an hour after a water change, then rinse the filter, let it dry and use it again in the following weeks after a water change. But the flow is not really regulated as advertised. The levers are difficult to move and don't seem to control the water flow very well. So it's really going full steam ahead no matter what. Knowing this I would buy the next size down as the water flow in this one is really too strong for my fish. The manufacturer sent me another one when I called tech support, so customer service is great. But if you think the full water flow is too strong for your fish, buy one size smaller as you can't control the water flow. I had a replacement device for about 6 months. I might go back and buy another size smaller because I really like how the filters work.
