Review on DWE402 DEWALT 2-Inch Grinder with Powerful 11 Amp Motor by James Pfettscher

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fed a damn hot dinner on the first day

I bought this grinder because my grinder is powered by a Milwaukee battery which lasts about 10 minutes of low pressure grinding and my old mains grinder was brought out of the garage. When I ordered it, I knew exactly what kind of project it was. I got a piece of a retired car at work and wanted to use it as ballast in my 4x4 during the winter without sacrificing sandbag cargo space. I am a truck mechanic and have been working for many years. I have brought many quality grinders to their final resting place. Most could be told what to expect on day one. This one will be at my home for the rest of my years. I fed this thing a hot dinner within 8 hours of receiving it. Amazon got it here 2 days before the promise, which was exactly when I needed it. I had just finished blowing snow when the postman brought it and I immediately got to work. I used 8 grinding wheels, 3 Gemini grinding wheels (which are amazing) and 6 serrated lock washers. First about the bad. The guard is too big. I'm pretty sure it's for built-in nut consumables because they're a lot bigger. I cut and sand it to suit the type I'm using. Then the spindle is too long. on a 5/16 wheel, the nut will stick out. So I took it to a belt sander and, with the engine running, sanded it flush to the nut. I removed the nut and made a small bevel on it. Something inside was dangling when I started. I removed the gear cover/spindle and smeared high quality molybdenum grease onto the dry ring gear. The noise lasted about 20 minutes then went away and it ran as smooth as anything I've ever used. I think it might be the familiarity of the brushes on the commutator. Good. More power than you need. Consumables can only handle it. It is light/powerful, balanced and smooth after a menstrual break. Driving a grinder is never "fun" so it's important to have a machine that can do as little work as possible. 5 stars are not enough. There's a lot of junk now. it's not that. Professional tool, ready to use. 1 star assembled in USA. This is important to me as we are doing great things, I hope they expand this. I've bled for many years, but the future may be mostly yellow for that reason alone. 1 star for performance. 1 to stay cool. 1 for fits comfortably in the hand. 1 star for quick and easy hard drive replacement. 1 star for the cable, very flexible and doesn't get hot. 1 star for the packaging, not over the top and ended up in my wood stove not landfill. 1 star because yellow tools are hard to lose in a mess. One star deducted because there was no wrench, of course because of the packaging. It came with a 3/8 allen wrench, I have no idea why. still more than 5. Yesterday I had to remove some wheels from the edge of the table. You simply hold the lock, which is perfect for this tool, hold the wheel on the edge of the bench in the right direction, and it pops off instantly. This often breaks a wheel, but it's usually not worth saving if you do. .
