We used these plates for our family post wedding dinner. This random dinner menu included salad, pizza etc. These plates are great! I didn't want to burden the homeowner with what needs to be washed. Also, I didn't want paper plates. The plates have the natural color of pressed palm leaves. There was a faint odor coming from the leaves, but nothing chemical or unpleasant. I opened the packages and aired them for several hours. I was as happy as our guests! My understanding is that they can be washed and reused, but that didn't work out in our time frame. We used a 10 inch square. Anything else would be too small.
