If your crossbars are about three inches wide, brace yourself for some trouble. The foam inside wants to return to its tube insulator shape instead of lying on top of the crossbar. The width of the nylon sleeve requires that the foam compress when you wrap the bottom. The Velcro straps barely overlap to hook and hold the lid. Certainly "aerodynamic" as it hugs the crossbars very closely. Not sure if the tight hook and loop engagement is enough to hold the pads in place while the yak is being pushed.
