I was surprised at their durability. They sit on a spring-loaded arm with black foam pads on each end to hold the dividers in place. I usually use boxes of a specific shape, so the variety of section size factors was ideal for me. It took me significant pressure to get them to fit my space. They are almost fully compressed so they hold up very well. The 4 major sections will not adjust now without some serious work on my part. Be sure to measure your drawers accurately. The tighter compression is so strong that you need to be careful to choose the right size. They moved my drawer from the hamper level to the Martha Stewart level. I've already bought another one. Looking like such an organized housewife is easy, pretty addicting.
