The adapter is poorly formed/machined such that there is a burr on the inner circumference of the two flat side ports causing the temperature sensor to stick. The third port on the side of the plate is poorly positioned and doesn't have enough depth, causing your sensor to end up in the middle. I had to use a rotary tool to grind down the lip on the connector so I could get the temp sensor to sit straight instead of crossing the threads. I used a standard 1/8" NPT electrical temp probe.
