This sharpener is best for art pencils. There are probably better ones out there, but this sharpener won't eat my Prismacolor or Polychromos. It's very rare for a pencil point to get stuck, but with a button on the back it's fixed in a second. I was really terrified of using an electric sharpener with my super expensive pencils, but I'm so thankful I tried this one. Couldn't be happier with this product. If you have trouble breaking your Prismacolor it seems to sharpen without further damaging the core. I don't know if you need this but sometimes I run regular graphite pencils through to keep it lubricated as I've seen other people with sharpeners on YouTube. I don't regret this purchase at all! My wrists used to hurt so much from using manual pencil sharpeners that I had little time to get creative. It saved my wrists and pencils!
