Review on GELID GC-Extreme 3.5g with Tooling: Ultimate Thermal Conductive Paste for Heatsink, High Performance, Easy Application by Mike Sevenfourgd

This is a real find. I don't know how this compares to some other, more "extreme" TIM solutions, but in my comparative tests it absolutely outperforms AS5. I use a Corsair Hydro Series H110i GTX cooling system. After issues with my warranty EVGA motherboard EVGA X99 Classified Intel Socket LGA 2011-3 DDR4 2666MHz motherboard 151-HE-E999-KR which replaced EVGA with no fuss. I needed to redo TIM on my Intel i7-5830k Intel Core i7-5930K Haswell-E 6-Core 3.5GHz LGA 2011-v3 140W BX80648I75930K Desktop Processor. CPU overclocked to 4.5GHz for reference only. I had some Arctic Silver 5 that I just bought so I used that. It performed worse than the thermal pad that came with the Corsair cooler. My temperature peaked at 60C while gaming and never dropped below 45C while idling. I chose and bought Hyper Gelid Solutions GC-Extreme. Both times I prepared the surface of the CPU and cooler in the same way. Steps 1 and 2 ArcticClean followed by final cleaning with rubbing alcohol using a microfiber cloth. Having run my CPU under load and idle for the past 24 hours, this TIM is already 10C or more than what I got with the AS5. . I used a big pea sized dot in the middle of my CPU (big because the i7-5830K is a bit bigger than the regular i7. The change was immediate and undeniable. The imperfections and those temperature drops are already impressive. Absolutely 100% happy with the purchase, and in I still have a lot on the tube, maybe I'll change the TIM on the graphics card, I've seen at least one review, I'm complaining about the price, I suppose that compared to $ 6 for a tube AS5 can be considered "expensive" but you get a lot more in tube, I'd say it probably lasts for 10 or more uses (that's a guess.) It outperforms the AS5 in my humble side-by- Side I think this is great value given the performance and the amount you actually get, I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good TIM.
