but mostly it's been like this since I put it on for the first time.

I've had this jacket for a little over a year now and it's definitely not a raincoat. The jacket is only waterproof for very short periods of time. If I put it on in the pouring rain when I walk out of my car to my office building, the whole journey up to the time I arrive at my workplace takes less than 2 minutes, the water is already getting wet and the inside of the back the jacket gets wet. starts to get wet. Unfortunately I discovered this after the return window, but it's mostly since I first wore it in the rain, around 2 months after purchase. It never gets particularly wet now, but some water will definitely seep into the jacket and pretty quickly. Just to make sure sweat and moisture from the body didn't accumulate in the jacket, I hung it on a chair and sprayed it with a hose down the middle of the back where there are no seams. After spraying I checked if it was still dry inside and let it sit for 5 minutes. When I came back it was damp inside. When I put the jacket on, it was so damp that I felt moisture on my back almost immediately through the moisture-wicking polo shirt I was wearing, but not so much that my shirt looked wet when I took it off. not very breathable. Wearing this jacket in pre-stormy weather on a warm summer day will quickly lead to heavy sweating inside the jacket. This jacket really is more of a "waterproof, non-breathable windbreaker" than anything else. Not impressed. I prefer my windbreakers to be much more breathable than these. I prefer my raincoats to be waterproof enough to last half an hour in the rain without getting wet. This jacket doesn't fit either. I may have gotten bad quality as some reviews are similar to mine while others claim it's waterproof. Maybe some kind of waterproof coating was sprayed at the factory, but mine was forgotten. In any case, this is not a real cape.
